Support Offer from WCC
Warwickshire County Council can provide support for a number of issues using their normal channels as well as a tapping into the local network of community and voluntary groups. These include:
- medicine deliveries
- financial and housing support
- mental health and wellbeing advice
- accessing food and essential household goods
- COVID-19 support directory
- health and social care information
- information, advice and online services eg virtual/home library
- hospital discharges/hospital to home
- home isolation
Residents can access these services using:

The hotline is open:
- Monday to Thursday - 9am to 5pm
- Friday - 9am to 4.30pm
- Saturday - 9am to 3pm
- Sunday - 10am to 1pm
Booklet with Help and Advice from WCC
Let's do the right thing for Warwickshire is an 8 page booklet containing useful information to help people stay as safe and well as possible during the COVID-19 pandemic. It has been distributed to all households across the county.
Many of Warwickshire's most vulnerable people do not use services online; this newsletter forms part of a communications campaign to ensure support information reaches every household and every resident.
The booklet has been produced in partnership with public and voluntary organisations to respond to queries from residents about available services and support and to address issues which have become apparent locally and across the country.
The printed copy was produced on ethically sourced FSC certified paper, which will allow residents to recycle it after use.

Become A Covid Community Champion
A Warwickshire County Council training programme to help communities support one another through the pandemic is proving popular with residents.
The first COVID-19 Community Champions course, developed by the council and delivered in partnership with other public and voluntary sector services, took place in September.
Course participants have been keen to share the actions they will be taking following training. One is raising awareness at his local Gurdwara through sharing information videos, weekly health discussion sessions and providing information and posters to help people stay safe. Another is taking on responsibility for checking on neighbours who are vulnerable. All are working to promote accurate information within their own networks about Test and Trace and COVID-19 prevention.
Warwickshire County Councillor Les Caborn, Portfolio Holder for Adult Social Care and Health said: “The pandemic has left many people feeling helpless and unsure how to take control of aspects of life they may previously have taken for granted. This course offers back some empowerment to people so they can take positive action and effect some local change.
“It is suitable for anyone interested in learning more about being a responsible and supportive member of their community and is part of our wider active citizen programme with special focus on the pandemic. Participants are learning about the impact of the COVID-19, what people can do to stay safe and how they can protect others. Most importantly they are passing this knowledge on to others and forming local networks of support."

TESTING
The Government has announced the further expansion of access to coronavirus testing to help protect the most vulnerable. Anyone with coronavirus symptoms, who either has to leave home to go to work or is aged 65 and over, is now able to get tested.Tests are available across the country & can be booked immediately.
